Strength coach

Jordan Hoppel

Strength coach. 17 years. 1,300+ athletes. Founder of Modern Protocol.

Jordan Hoppel is a strength coach and the founder of Modern Protocol, a barbell training app with 261 coach-written programs and a library of 664 exercises.

He started coaching at 19 and has now coached more than 1,300 athletes over 17 years. He was a two-time NCAA Division II All-American sprinter at Ashland University, where he earned a B.S. in Exercise Science in 2014. He trained with the Altis elite track and field group and interned in strength and conditioning with the Cleveland Indians.

His clients have added 50 to 100 lb to their bench press, including Cole K. (+50 lb in 6 weeks) and Dan Y. (+100 lb in 5 months).

He coaches the way he trains: simple programs, progressive loading, and the arithmetic shown. Modern Protocol puts that into an app with workout logging and PR tracking. He lives and coaches in Scottsdale, Arizona.
